FAQ's

1.If I send you an AutoCAD drawing file (dwg) via email, what instructions do you need for printing?

In addition to the normal printing instructions we will need to know the scale/sheet size, CTB’s, special fonts and all xrefs. There is an extra charge for this service due to all of the extra man hours required to correctly process drawing files (dwg). Recommend using the eTransmit tool available in AutoCAD 2008 which automatically gathers all the above and zips together all required components.

2.How do I create PLT files using AutoCAD?

3.When using Repro Desk, which AutoCAD print driver is best to use?

The HPGL2 driver has proven to be the best choice. You can download the Plotting Standard Guide for more information.

4.What type of files can I send with Repro Desk?

Repro Desk supports a variety of files. You can send HPGL2 plot files, PDF files, Word and Excel documents using Repro Desk. Repro Desk version 4.35 or later will also allow you to send DWF files. Colour files should always be forwarded without (NOT) being processed. Please do not zip the drawings before inserting them into the Repro Desk job. Insert them as separate files. Repro Desk compresses them automatically during the process of sending them to our facility.

As an added convenience you may send us your transmittals and distribution lists (Word/Excel documents) for shipping and distribution together with the rest of the drawing files.

5.What is the largest size you can print colour output?

Entire Imaging Solutions Inc. offeres a broad range of colour output options. In addition to the standard letter size (8.5" x 11") and tabloid (11" x 17") we also output 12 x18" with full bleed as well as large format inkjet technologies which can output up to 60" wide.

6.If I used my CTB File when creating the Plot files, what pen table should I use in Repro Desk?

Use the HPGLAUTO as your default pen set. HPGLAUTO interprets your custom pen set information embedded in your plot file. This eliminates the need for you to create custom pen sets in Repro Desk.

7.What are bleeds?

Bleed is required when any element of a printed document touches the end of the page leaving no margins. Standard bleed allowance is 1/8".

8.What file format should my colour printing jobs be saved as?

Send all documents as a print-ready PDF file. This is the best way to ensure a fast turnaround and most accurate quality.

9.This is my first time ordering with Entire, who do I contact to submit the order?

10.How do I request a 3D print order?

We ask our clients to provide us with a 3D file (recommended file formats: stl, 3ds, step, skp, 3dm, igs or sldprt). We will review the provided file and provide you with a quote within 48hrs.

11.What are the size limitations of 3D printing?

Ultimately we can create any size 3D model. Depending on the preferred material of the model there are limitations to the size our machines can print in one pass: 19.5" x 15.5" x 7.5" on the Objet, and 14" x 10" x 8" if printed on the Connex. If a larger 3D model is needed we have the ability to print in pieces and assemble using strong adhesives to precisely create larger size models.

12.What security measures to you practice to ensure client data is kept confidential?

Entire is certified in the Controlled Goods Registration Program, has Valid security clearance with Public Works and Government Services Canada, and meets International Traffic in Arms Regulation certification. All documents are stored in a dedicated storage area with limited employee access.
